Sound in Focus // Summer Pop-Up with KCRW x Annenberg Foundation

Summer in Los Angeles has been eventful for us here at THE CROWN COLLECTIVE and each week we have had the opportunity to be part of some really well-curated productions. One of which has been, and will continue to be for the next two Saturdays of July, is the Sound in Focus Concert Series hosted by KCRW and The Annenberg Foundation in Century City, CA.

Our team had the honor of being a part of this event and setting up a flower crown pop-up shop with pre-made, hand-crafted flower crowns ready for pick up for people to wear. We also had a lounge area for people to sit and learn how to make their own flower crowns.

The evening was pretty incredible with live music, delicious food and just good energy from a collective of people coming together from all different backgrounds gathering for a night out to enjoy themselves. It is really a beautiful thing to observe and be part of such a collective experience.

Summer to me is a time that represents warmth, expansion and exploration. It is a time during the year where the days are longer and people are able to gather together to connect and enjoy one another. It was so clear to see how many families, new friends and old coming together not only for the music, but also, to explore the atmosphere of this event through the food trucks, beer garden, outdoor games and flower crowns.

At the end of the night, we had a moment to take a break to enjoy some music performed by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Listening to their music made me remember my times in Texas and Louisiana when I was on a road trip with one of my best friends, while at the same time, realizing that I was imprinting and making new memories here in LA with the people standing next to me. Watching Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros play their set was magical. The flow of everyone making music together was so evident and being able to watch them in their art, their love and their passion was beautiful.
