Our Founder

Carolyn H. Brown

Carolyn is the founder of THE CROWN COLLECTIVE which started in 2013. What began as a fun activity with friends, Carolyn fostered and developed the concept of a flower crown bar for events and parties on the side as she was working as a Life Coach for young adults & a Play Therapist for children with developmental disabilities.

In 2015, Carolyn decided to take the risk to foster THE CROWN COLLECTIVE full-time and leave a profession that she had invested in for over 10 years. Since that transition, she has been published in magazines, curated large-scale events of over 300 crowns a day and has traveled nationwide to provide flower crown bar services.

Carolyn has been a trailblazer in the industry of flower crowns and finds her inspiration by her clients, community and daughter. She has been featured on Disney Style as one of five artists who were hand-selected for their Disney-inspired work. Through that experience, Carolyn created The Princess Collection, a series of flower crowns designed around some of people's favorite Disney princesses. She also was rated by YELP as the top nine floral destinations to check out in the spring of 2018 and featured on Voyage LA as one of LA's most inspiring stories.

Carolyn was inspired to give back and connect mental health with the business. She initiated The Love & Generosity Campaign in February of 2019 as a way to give back to her community through connecting her resources in the event industry with those in need in the mental health sector. Carolyn's ultimate goal is to connect and come full circle in providing a thoughtful and caring service that ultimately serves the community to improve their well-being.

Carolyn is also an ambassador for Fleurs de Prairie as Seeds of Beauty Grant. The 2019 Seeds of Beauty Campaign recognizes and supports women who are dedicated to creating beauty in their community; those who are powered by kindness, strengthened by generosity and always in celebration of the hustle. Fleurs de Prairie champions those who inspire each other to #FleurishTogether.

Carolyn is the mother of two daughters, Willow and Sedona, and currently balancing being a mother first and an entrepreneur second. Some of Carolyn's favorite things to do is going on walks with Willow and her dad, spending time with her dogs, decorating her home and traveling with her husband to National Parks around the US. Oh and on most days, you can find Carolyn in a hat and surrounded by flowers.
